Mann Middle School ~ Home of the Mighty Lancers!

Welcome to Mann Middle School! We are excited to have you join our vibrant community, where we serve students in grades 6-8 within the Central Area of Colorado Springs School District 11. Established in 1957, our school has a rich history and a strong commitment to providing a quality education to our diverse student body, which is projected to enroll approximately 340 students for the 2024-2025 academic year.

At Mann Middle School, we celebrate our diversity, with about 52% of our students from minority backgrounds. We offer specialized programs to support students with significant learning needs and social-emotional challenges. Our goal is to provide every student with the resources they need to succeed.

With an enrollment of around 340 students, we believe that our smaller school size will foster personalized attention and strong relationships between students and staff. We are striving to create a close-knit community where every student feels known and valued. Our dedicated educators are committed to nurturing each student’s unique strengths, and we are working toward making Mann a welcoming place for all.

We are proud to share that Mann Middle School has made significant strides in academic achievement. According to the Colorado Department of Education's School Performance Framework, the school improved from Priority Improvement Status to Improvement Status, reflecting a nearly 10% gain from 2023 – 2024. This achievement reflects our commitment to enhancing educational quality and resources. As we continue to build on this success, we are excited about the opportunities it will create for our students to reach their full potential and achieve their goals.

Our curriculum encompasses core subjects such as math, language arts, social studies, and science, as well as a variety of electives, including band, orchestra, choir, dance, art, theater, family consumer science, and physical education. We are thrilled to have reinstated our Gifted and Talented program, which identifies and supports students with exceptional abilities. Additionally, we have introduced an interventionist teacher to enhance reading, writing, and math support.

For the upcoming school year, we are excited to implement a new six-period schedule that includes dedicated time for social-emotional learning. Our House System divides students into smaller groups, promoting positive relationships and healthy competition among peers. We are focused on developing essential learner skills that prepare our students to be continuous learners, empowered citizens, and empathetic collaborators.

We look forward to working with our school community to create a supportive and enriching environment for our students. Thank you for being an essential part of the Mann Middle School community.
